Ron Rivera Returns to Cal Football in GM Role

Ron Rivera will be joining the Cal football program in the role of general manager role. In the new NIL era, this has been for many campuses a new level of management for college football programs.

Rivera has maintained being active in Cal Athletics since graduating from the school where he played football, particularly in his support of California Legends (our NIL collective) with his wife Stephanie (who sits on the Board of Directors). He has helped with fundraising efforts with matching donations to drives for the football program. Rivera also served as GM for two years with the Washington Commanders.

Rivera is expected to give HC Justin Wilcox an added perspective with his coaching experience, and managing the talent available in the transfer portal.
